Section Manager at Svenska kraftnät
Svenska kraftnät is one of the key players in the transition to sustainable energy. We are now looking for a section manager for the Power System department within the System division, who will contribute to Sweden's electricity supply every day. We need you to succeed in our vital mission to electrify Sweden.
In the System division, we work at an overarching level to design the electricity market, develop and operate the electricity system. We are part of finding the answers to the climate transition and creating prosperity for the entire society. We are a key player for the Swedish society to develop and create the conditions for it to function. We solve both today's and tomorrow's challenges. We ensure that Sweden has a bright future.
About the position
As a section manager, you will be the manager of four unit managers, each responsible for their unit. Three of the units are responsible for network planning divided into the geographical areas of north, central, and south. The fourth unit is a strategic network planning function. You will be part of steering groups for facility projects and development projects where you are expected to contribute with your knowledge. You will belong to the management team of the power systems and report directly to the head of the Power System department.
Here you will be offered a role with high exposure internally at Svenska kraftnät and towards external parties such as regional networks and other connecting customers. You will interact with industry organizations, the government office, and the media. In this role, you will also collaborate internationally with a focus on the Nordic system operators. The section is responsible for an area that lies at the core of the mission, and you have great opportunities to influence society's ability to electrify and transition.
You will belong to the network development section, which currently consists of approximately 45 employees and consultants responsible for developing the power system based on Svenska kraftnät's role as a network owner and system operator. The purpose is to develop the transmission network to meet the world's need for network capacity. The section conducts investigations of changes that affect the capacity of the physical network, establishes maximum network capacity, and identifies the need for network reinforcements.
